Diwali aint the only guy back..

Hola,
Its a new month and the start of my half month vacation :-)
Its timed to co-incide with Diwali Fest in Mumbai and also it will be a year since my shifting to Chennai.. Unlike my previous trips to Mumbai, this time I am leaving no stones unturned. So, I have got my tripod and extra pair of batteries which I always felt wanting..

In these 15 days of complete freedom, I am planning to cover !!! DIWALI !!!
and

  • Worli : Sea-Link,
  • Malabar-Hill  : Hanging Garden, Queen's Necklace,
  • Church-Gate : Marine Drive and Nariman Point,
  • Colaba : Taj Heritage Wing and Gateway of India
and also Nehru Centre and Rajabai Towers to name a few.

For Colaba, I am planning to reach at early morning to get sun-rise as well as during evening time to capture Taj Hotel.. Queen's Necklace might look more beautiful at evening/night. So Marine-Drive must be visited in the evening.. Hanging Garden would be better after noon as I am planning to get Bird's Day/Night View from there.

Its just a rough sketch and will need more planning and preparation as I would also have to acccount for rush-hours and Obama's Visit. I hope he travels just by choppers else I can imagine spending hours in road blocks.. :-)

Meanwhile, I continue with Abstract and Random Photography.
A day before coming from Chennai, I had captured a Dragon-Fly (Macro) and it seems to be the best detail dragon-fly that I have managed to capture.. :-) However, I had to pay my last respects soon after I had captured the magnificient insect.. Naah!! I didnt send the insect into trauma/shock. It got eaten by a scaly creature - Lizard. Initially, I felt bad for the insect coz I had given it pesronal care and helped to clean its legs off the dirt and cob-webs.. but then I consoled myself  saying thats Life - beautiful but ephemeral.

When Dragon becomes Saint !

Fly Dragon Fly !

I Fly but dont spit fire :-)

Pre..

I fell in Love with Photography when I first clicked Pics using my friend's Digital Camera at a party. This was the catalyst that trigerred my craze for photography and cameras. From then there was no looking back :-)

I bought my first camera, Sony Cybershot DSC W-80 during my Engineering days. I crazily used to smuggle the camera every day to college so that I never miss a moment worth taking pics.. It rolled pics of Insects, Flowers, trips to Goa, Kerala, innudation in Mumbai and so on...:-)
However this period of joy and mirth turned to be ephemeral as the camera got stolen. It pained like anything. The thought of loosing something so precious was unimaginable and it felt like loosing someone very close to you.

It taught me the great axiom : Never leave your camera unattended in a bag and to be extremely aware of ones surroundings when one carries a camera..  :-P

After a few months I bought Canon Powershot SX110IS - a bridge camera that had manual exposure and limited control over Focal length. Its my first step towards Manual Exposure and DSLRs. It never gave me the wide-angle of Sony W80 but helped me get over my grief and start learn Exposure variables and its effects.
So thats with the History...
With this blog, I intend to share the fun I have taking pics and hope to learn from the comments/feedbacks :-)

First Words...

Hi,
My Name is Max and I am Shutter Smitten!

Few days back, I saw the movie Julie&Julia Project again on Cable. It infused new vigor in me to write again. It inspired me to keep myself occupied with something constructive apart from the regular office work.. So I thought why not write about something I love to do. Its Photography and writing for me. So I decided to mix them up..

I plan to write about Photography and my photos... I love taking pics of Insects, flora n fauna and of nature..
So Lets begin..
